2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are pleased to honor Gregg T. Riddle on being a |
4 | | pioneer in Illinois 9-1-1 public safety communications for over |
5 | | 30 years; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Gregg T. Riddle was in the Elk Grove Fire |
7 | | Department from 1971 through 2000, where he rose to the rank of |
8 | | fire chief; he worked for the West Suburban Consolidated |
9 | | Dispatch Center from 2000 to 2008 as its first executive |
10 | | director; and

11 | | WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle has been a member of the Association |
12 | | of Public-Safety Communications Officials since 1981; he has |
13 | | held the positions of International Executive Council |
14 | | Representative, International 1st Vice President, |
15 | | International 2nd Vice President, International President, and |
16 | | most recently International Immediate Past President; in 2003, |
17 | | he was awarded the prestigious Association Life status; and

18 | | WHEREAS, During his career in public safety, Gregg Riddle |
19 | | has led the initiative for wireless 9-1-1 funding in the State, |
20 | | traveled nationwide and across the globe promoting public |
21 | | safety communications, helped pass D-Block and create the First |
22 | | Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), and instructed at |
