2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation | ||||||
4 | of Resurrection House Baptist Church on the occasion of the | ||||||
5 | dedication of the church's new building; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Resurrection House Baptist Church began with 13 | ||||||
7 | members meeting at Resurrection House Inc., a non-profit | ||||||
8 | residential living facility for women reintegrating themselves | ||||||
9 | back in mainstream society; the members began a Tuesday night | ||||||
10 | Bible study and the vision began to grow and expand; after many | ||||||
11 | of the members urged Pastor Marcus A. Randle to launch a new | ||||||
12 | church, he began to look for a permanent place of worship and | ||||||
13 | found a location at 244 East 138th Street in Dolton; after | ||||||
14 | negotiations with the real estate company and a short cosmetic | ||||||
15 | make over, Resurrection House held its first Sunday morning | ||||||
16 | worship service on July 5, 2009 at what is known as | ||||||
17 | Resurrection House Baptist Church Campus; the church has grown | ||||||
18 | from its original 13 members to its present congregation of 241 | ||||||
19 | members in the last 2 years; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Immediately after the opening of Resurrection | ||||||
21 | House Baptist Church, numerous ministries began to form, | ||||||
22 | including the "Generation Next" youth ministry, which reached | ||||||
23 | over 75 youth and children in its first year; the church also |

| |||||||
1 | organized a weekly youth Bible study and took youth on several | ||||||
2 | educational trips and recreational outings; the church's | ||||||
3 | Women's Affairs ministry, entitled "Women on Fire for Christ", | ||||||
4 | has reached out to women from all walks of life; its men's | ||||||
5 | ministry, "Men Resurrecting Men", and its young adult's | ||||||
6 | ministry, "Atmosphere Changers For Christ", have also reached | ||||||
7 | out to many in the community; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Having outgrown their original accommodations, | ||||||
9 | the congregation of Resurrection House Baptist Church will move | ||||||
10 | into a new location at 245 East 138th Street in Dolton; the | ||||||
11 | congregation will dedicate this new building with a service on | ||||||
12 | November 18, 2012; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, The congregation of Resurrection House Baptist | ||||||
14 | Church serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication | ||||||
15 | for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
17 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
18 | we congratulate the congregation of Resurrection House Baptist | ||||||
19 | Church on the occasion of the dedication of the church's new | ||||||
20 | building and wish them continued success and happiness in the | ||||||
21 | future; and be it further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
