2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert D. |
4 | | Reese of Tuscola, who passed away on October 9, 2012; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese was born on April 28, 1962, at Scott |
6 | | Air Force Base to Robert L. and Mary E. (Smith) Reese; he |
7 | | married Pamela M. Berner on May 24, 1997, in Jamaica; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese began his broadcasting career as an |
9 | | on-air personality at various radio stations in central |
10 | | Illinois; he worked as a meteorologist and news anchor for |
11 | | WAND-TV in Decatur; he joined WCIA 3 in 1998, and served as the |
12 | | station's chief meteorologist for nearly 4 years; he reported |
13 | | weather for WBGL and other radio stations in central Illinois; |
14 | | and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese worked as a police officer in Kansas, |
16 | | Illinois, prior to his television weather career; he attended |
17 | | Eastern Illinois University and graduated from the broadcast |
18 | | meteorology program at Mississippi State University; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese had a passion for all things related |
20 | | to music, airplanes, and cars; he enjoyed meeting new people |
21 | | and watching Animal Planet; he was known for his offbeat sense |

1 | | of humor and his zeal for zombies and horror movies; and |
2 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese spent many weekends volunteering |
3 | | with numerous charities throughout central Illinois; he hosted |
4 | | the MDA Labor Day telethon and the MDA summer camp; he served |
5 | | on the Mid-Illinois Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board of |
6 | | Directors, for which he received the 1998 Volunteer of the Year |
7 | | Award; he volunteered for the Douglas County Emergency Services |
8 | | and Disaster Agency, and he could be found emceeing charitable |
9 | | events for cancer survivors; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese was preceded in death by his father, |
11 | | Robert L. Reese; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Reese is survived by his wife, Pamela; his |
13 | | children, Rachel Kerr and Matthew, Michelle, and Michael Reese; |
14 | | his grandchildren, Alexandra and Dallas Kerr; his mother, Mary |
15 | | Reese; his sisters, Madeline Reese and Vanessa Reese; his |
16 | | aunts, uncles, and cousins in Central Illinois and England; and |
17 | | numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws near Chicago; therefore, |
18 | | be it

19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
20 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
21 | | we mourn the passing of Robert Reese, and we extend our sincere |
22 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
