2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Peggy Frank on the |
4 | | occasion of her retirement as President and CEO of the |
5 | | Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement in January of |
6 | | 2013; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank earned her associate's degree with |
8 | | honors in American history and recreation from Stephens College |
9 | | in Columbia, Missouri and her bachelor's degree in American |
10 | | history and library science from the University of Kentucky in |
11 | | Lexington; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank began her career with Naper Settlement |
13 | | (now Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement) as the |
14 | | organization's Curator/Director in October of 1979; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, As President and CEO, Peggy Frank has been |
16 | | instrumental in leading and transforming the organization from |
17 | | a small grassroots, volunteer-driven organization into a |
18 | | nationally-recognized, 12-acre museum complex with over 30 |
19 | | structures and a $4 million operating budget; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, Prior to her tenure with the Naperville Heritage |
21 | | Society and Naper Settlement, Peggy Frank served as the |

1 | | Assistant Curator of American Arts and Research for the |
2 | | Historical Society of Delaware from 1977 to 1978 and as Curator |
3 | | of the George Read II House for the Historical Society of |
4 | | Delaware from 1978 to 1979; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank has been a member of countless civic |
6 | | and professional organizations on the local, State, and |
7 | | national levels; she has also made many presentations and |
8 | | appeared on numerous panels for area community service groups, |
9 | | civic organizations, and other historical societies; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Peggy Frank will |
11 | | continue to serve as the organization's President Emeritus and |
12 | | serve as a consultant for one year to assist in the transition |
13 | | with a new CEO; she also plans to remain an active supporter |
14 | | and promoter of the organization; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Peggy Frank serves as a model of hard work, |
16 | | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
17 | | Illinois; therefore, be it
|
18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
19 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
20 | | we congratulate Peggy Frank on the occasion of her retirement |
21 | | as President and CEO of the Naperville Heritage Society and |
22 | | Naper Settlement and thank her for her 33 years of service to |
