2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are pleased to thank Chicago Police Officer |
4 | | Dennis Pociask of Chicago for his hard work during the NATO |
5 | | Summit; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, He began his law enforcement career in 1997, |
7 | | working as a police officer and acting field training officer, |
8 | | assigned to the 13th District; in 2004, he was assigned to an |
9 | | elite city-wide unit focusing on the reduction of crime in |
10 | | Chicago; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, In 2011, he was assigned to an elite team, the |
12 | | Area South Saturation Team, that saturates violent zones within |
13 | | the City of Chicago with a police presence in order to combat |
14 | | gang conflicts that may erupt; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, He graduated from Quigley North High School; he |
16 | | received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law Enforcement |
17 | | Management, with honors, from Calumet College of St. Joseph; he |
18 | | minored in criminal justice and sociology at Niles College of |
19 | | Loyola University; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, He is a 14th Ward Aldermanic Advisory Member; he |
21 | | serves on the local school council; he is an athletic coach; |

1 | | and he is a member of the Polish American Police Association; |
2 | | and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Officer Pociask is certified in CPR; he has |
4 | | specialized training in Conflict Management, |
5 | | investigation/search procedures, security and emergency |
6 | | response, crisis and diversity management, disaster and |
7 | | emergency preparedness, counter terrorism techniques, crowd |
8 | | and disaster control, modern community policing, strategic |
9 | | operations, recruit evaluation, problem solving, report |
10 | | preparation, G8/NATO, lomar, crisis intervention, and training |
11 | | to be an instructor in the Special Olympics; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, He has received the life saving award, a |
13 | | department commendation, numerous honorable mentions, various |
14 | | department salutes, the outstanding achievement award, |
15 | | numerous fitness awards, and letters of praise from citizens of |
16 | | the City of Chicago; therefore, be it

17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
18 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
19 | | we thank Officer Pociask for his hard work and dedication to |
20 | | making Chicago a safe place to work, live, and enjoy; and be it |
21 | | further
