HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to  learn of the death of
United 
4States Army Private First Class Adam Dobereiner of Moline, who 
5was killed in the line of duty on November 18, 2011, in the 
6Kandahar province of Afghanistan; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, PFC Adam Dobereiner was born on November 21, 1989, 
8in Rock Island; his parents were Christopher and Lee Ann Smith 
9Dobereiner; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, PFC Adam Dobereiner graduated from Moline High 
11School in 2008; while at Moline High School, he participated in 
12wrestling, football and building trades; he subsequently 
13enrolled as a student at Black Hawk College; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Following a long line of family military service, 
15PFC Adam Dobereiner enlisted in the United States Army in 2010 
16and graduated training as a combat engineer; he was deployed to 
17Afghanistan on July 6, 2011; he chose to enlist as a combat 
18engineer because he wanted to build things and enjoyed building 
19things for other people on the weekends as a young man; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, PFC Adam Dobereiner was preceded in death by his 
21aunt, Beth Smith; his uncle, Stephen Dobereiner; his

1great-uncles, Pete Hantz Jr. and Stanley Hantz; and his 
2great-grandparents, Pete Hantz Sr., Troy and Lorraine Huff, 
3Alven and Margaret Dobereiner, and Ida and Herbert Smith; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, PFC Adam Dobereiner is survived by his mother, Lee 
5Ann Dobereiner; his father, Christopher Dobereiner; his 
6siblings, Christopher Lorenz (Kelly) Dobereiner II, Helen 
7Teresa (Marty)
Dobereiner-Durbin, and Ann Marie Dobereiner; 
8his nieces and nephews, Conner, Addison, Alayna, Marlee, and 
9Ariana; his grandparents, Don and Helen Smith, Larry and Vicki 
10Dobereiner, and William and Linda Blackwell; his 
11great-grandparents, Leota Hantz and Ivan and Joan Overton; and 
12his uncles and aunts, Pete and Terri Smith, Tim and Elizabeth 
13Krahl, Steven and Jennifer Thomas, Chris and MaryJo Thomas, and 
14Mark Thomas; and
 
15    WHEREAS, PFC Adam Dobereiner's patriotism and courage will 
16be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow soldiers, 
17and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of 
21United States Army Private First Class Adam Dobereiner; and be

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
2presented to the family of PFC Adam Dobereiner as an expression 
3of our sympathy.
