HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Western DuPage 
4Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) Windy City Warriors for 
5winning the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship 
6Tournament and for their 8th place finish at the National 
7Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Championship 
8Tournament; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The WDSRA Windy City Warriors is a team comprised 
10of players from around Chicago's western suburbs; the team is 
11sponsored by the Western DuPage Special Recreation 
12Association; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, After dominating the 2012 IHSA Wheelchair 
14Basketball Championship Tournament with a 6-0 record, the Windy 
15City Warriors traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado to compete 
16in the varsity bracket of the national tournament on March 
1722-24, 2012; facing some of the best teams in the nation, the 
18team placed 8th overall out of 32 teams; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Windy City Warriors have won an unprecedented 
207 State championships, having won the State title in the 
212002-2003, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 
222010-2011, and 2011-2012 seasons; and

1    WHEREAS, The members of the Windy City Warriors are Amy 
2Chapman, Blake Harmet, Justin Harrison, Matt Molenkamp, Chris 
3Murphy, Jonathan Ruiz, Nick Umek, Douglas Davison, Erik Todd, 
4Kyle Gribble, Mary Kate Callahan, Jessica Lindsay, Kyle 
5Picchetti, and Dan Dye; the team's coaches are Kevin Hosea and 
6William Johnson; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The members of the Windy City Warriors serve as 
8models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people 
9of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we congratulate the Western DuPage Special Recreation 
13Association (WDSRA) Windy City Warriors for winning the 2012 
14IHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship Tournament and their 
15wonderful performance at the NWBA Championship Tournament and 
16wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be 
17it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to the WDSRA Windy City Warriors as a symbol of our 
20esteem and respect.
