HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Addressing the complex mental health needs of 
3children, youth, and families today is fundamental to the 
4futures of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The need for comprehensive and coordinated mental 
6health services for children, youth, and families places a 
7critical responsibility upon this State; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, It is appropriate that a day should be set apart 
9each year for the direction of our thoughts toward our 
10children's mental health and well-being; and

  
 
11    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois, through its unique 
12approaches to serving children and adolescents, is effectively 
13caring for the mental health needs of children, youth, and 
14families in our communities; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
17we designate the date of May 9, 2012 as Children's Mental 
18Health Awareness Day in the State of Illinois and urge the 
19citizens of this State and all agencies and organizations 
20interested in meeting every child's mental health needs to 
21unite on that day in the observance of such exercises as will

1acquaint the people of Illinois with the fundamental necessity 
2of a year-round program for children and youth with mental 
3health needs and their families.
