| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Thomas M. Schultz |
| 4 | | on the occasion of his retirement from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire |
| 5 | | Protection District after 29 years of dedicated service; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz earned his associate's degree in |
| 7 | | fire science from the College of DuPage in 2003; he |
| 8 | | subsequently earned his bachelor's degree in business |
| 9 | | management from Benedictine University in 2006; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz began his career as a firefighter |
| 11 | | in 1978; he started his career as a fire cadet at John Hersey |
| 12 | | High School in Arlington Heights; he then became a fire fighter |
| 13 | | with the Elk Grove Township Fire Department; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz began his long tenure with the |
| 15 | | Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District on July 2, 1982; in |
| 16 | | 1993, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant; in 2005, he |
| 17 | | was promoted to the rank of captain; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz was a longtime member of the |
| 19 | | Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District Dive Rescue Team, |
| 20 | | where he served as coordinator for many years; in 2004, he |
| 21 | | became the Fire Science Coordinator for the College of DuPage, |

| 1 | | where he continues to serve today; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz became a licensed paramedic in 1986 |
| 3 | | and maintained his license until 1999; during his career, he |
| 4 | | obtained many State Certifications, including Haz Mat |
| 5 | | Awareness and First Responder, Certified Firefighter III, Fire |
| 6 | | Apparatus Engineer, Fire Officer I, II, and III, and Fire |
| 7 | | Prevention Officer; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz was the recipient of many awards |
| 9 | | from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, including |
| 10 | | the Award of Merit in 1984,1989,1991,1994, and 2011, Company |
| 11 | | Citations in 2002, 2006, and 2009, and 2 individual citations |
| 12 | | in 1984; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Schultz has been married to his loving |
| 14 | | wife, Robin, since 1984; he has 3 children, Michael (wife, |
| 15 | | Dawn), Christopher, and Patrick; therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 18 | | we congratulate Thomas M. Schultz on the occasion of his |
| 19 | | retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement |
| 20 | | years; and be it further
