|
2 | | WHEREAS, Captain Suzanne Jansky, Illinois State Police |
3 | | District 6 in Pontiac, will retire on March 31, 2012, after |
4 | | extraordinary serving the citizens of the State of Illinois |
5 | | since 1985; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky received her bachelor's degree |
7 | | from Carthage College in 1984 and served the citizens of |
8 | | Kenosha, Wisconsin as an undercover agent; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky began her career with the Illinois |
10 | | State Police in 1985 as a Trooper in District 6, where she |
11 | | served the citizens of Illinois with pride and dignity while |
12 | | making quality criminal and traffic arrests; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky transferred to the Illinois State |
14 | | Police Academy in 1986, where she served as a DARE Officer and |
15 | | an Academy Recruit Supervisor; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky served as an EEO Investigator and |
17 | | trainer in 1992; and |
18 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky transferred back to District 6 in |
19 | | 1993, where she was promoted to Sergeant as a field supervisor |
20 | | with other duties as a Peer Support Advisor and Academy |

1 | | instructor; and |
2 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky was promoted to Master Sergeant in |
3 | | 1995, where she was the Platoon Supervisor, Summer Strike Force |
4 | | supervisor, serving as the Illinois State Police Merit Board |
5 | | subject matter expert; and serving in strategic planning; and |
6 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky was promoted to Lieutenant in 1998 |
7 | | in District 6, where she served as a liaison with local |
8 | | departments and social service agencies, supervised and |
9 | | planned high profile events, and served several tenures as the |
10 | | District 6 Commander; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Captain Jansky was promoted to Commander of |
12 | | District 6 in 1999, and has made innumerable positive |
13 | | contributions with the Illinois State Police over her career, |
14 | | including, serving on District 6 budget oversight, strategic |
15 | | planning, internal investigations, as a peer support/mentor, |
16 | | media relations, personnel evaluations, as a Diversity Council |
17 | | member, serving on the Merit Board committees, oversight of |
18 | | District 6 headquarters; she is a graduate of the FBI National |
19 | | Academy; she was awarded the Director's Challenge Coin and Unit |
20 | | Citation; and she was a presenter at the Governor's Commission |
21 | | on Hate Crimes; and

22 | | WHEREAS, Captain Suzanne Jansky has served her community, |

1 | | her profession, and the State of Illinois with intelligence, |
2 | | dedication, and the highest integrity; therefore, be it
|
3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
4 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
5 | | we congratulate Captain Jansky on her retirement and thank her |
6 | | for her service to the people of the State of Illinois; and be |
7 | | it further

8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
9 | | presented to Captain Suzanne Jansky as a symbol of our respect |
10 | | and esteem.
