| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives adopted |
| 3 | | House Resolution 550 creating the Firearm Public Awareness Task |
| 4 | | Force to study concealed carry laws and public safety; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, House Resolution 550 further directed that the |
| 6 | | findings of the task force be reported to the General Assembly |
| 7 | | by March 1, 2012; this due date for the report is no longer |
| 8 | | workable given the task force's significant responsibilities |
| 9 | | of gathering and analyzing information about concealed carry |
| 10 | | laws, the impact of concealed carry laws, and how public safety |
| 11 | | can be maintained if concealed carry became the law in |
| 12 | | Illinois; therefore, be it

| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 14 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 15 | | the task force shall hold public hearings and shall issue a |
| 16 | | report of its findings and recommendations to the General |
| 17 | | Assembly on or before December 31, 2012; and that upon filing |
| 18 | | its report the task force is dissolved.
