HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Hennessey River Oaks Ford dealership at 281 
3River Oaks Drive in Calumet City is closing after 45 years in 
4business; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, River Oaks Ford owner and president Joseph 
6Hennessey opened the dealership in 1966; in that time, the 
7dealership won the Ford's President's Award 5 times and the 
8Partner in Quality award 17 times; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Hennessey family told their employees of the 
10closing in October of 2011 and immediately helped many of them 
11find new employment; and

  
 
12    WHEREAS, Higher taxes, insurance rates, and many of the 
13business' customers moving have all been factors in the 
14decision to close the dealership; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
16Representatives wish to thank Hennessey River Oaks Ford for 
17their many contributions to the community and to the local 
18Calumet City economy over the years; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we thank the staff at Hennessey River Oaks Ford for their years 
2of service and caring to the community; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Joseph Hennessey as a symbol of our respect and 
5esteem.
