2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Kristen |
4 | | Langner on the occasion of being selected as the 2011 Joseph G. |
5 | | Salerno Business Person of the Year by the Roselle Chamber of |
6 | | Commerce and Industry; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kristen Langner is a lifelong resident of the |
8 | | Roselle/Medinah area; she grew up in Medinah, where she |
9 | | attended Trinity Lutheran School and Lake Park High School; Dr. |
10 | | Langner and her husband, Kevin Weslock, currently reside in |
11 | | Roselle; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kristen Langner is the sole practitioner and |
13 | | owner of Langner Eye Care, which she opened in Roselle in 2005; |
14 | | after 5 years at her office on Irving Park Road, she renewed |
15 | | her commitment to practicing in Roselle and moved to a larger, |
16 | | modern office occupying a large space on Main Street in |
17 | | downtown Roselle; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kristen Langner has been an active member of |
19 | | the Roselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry since opening her |
20 | | office; she regularly volunteers at the Chamber's Annual Golf |
21 | | Outing, the Taste of Roselle Bingo tent, and the Rose Parade; |
22 | | she also serves on the Roselle Chamber Scholarship Committee; |

1 | | her husband is currently serving his first term as Director on |
2 | | the Board of Directors for the Roselle Chamber; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kristen Langner volunteers her time at Trinity |
4 | | Lutheran Church as a songleader in the praise band and serves |
5 | | as a member of the Mission Ministry; she is the co-founder and |
6 | | President of See to Read-Read to See, a not-for-profit mission |
7 | | that organizes Christian volunteers to give the gift of sight |
8 | | to people in Guatemala; since their first trip in 2010, her |
9 | | teams have provided over 2,500 vision screenings and have |
10 | | provided new eyeglasses, reading glasses, and protective |
11 | | sunwear to those in need; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kristen Langner serves as a model of hard |
13 | | work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
14 | | Illinois; therefore, be it
|
15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
16 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
17 | | we congratulate Dr. Kristen Langner on the occasion of being |
18 | | selected as the 2011 Joseph G. Salerno Business Person of the |
19 | | Year and wish her continued success and happiness in the |
20 | | future; and be it further
