HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the owners and 
4employees of the S & C Electric Company on the occasion of the 
5organization's 100th anniversary in 2011; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The S & C Electric Company has been a leader in 
7providing leading edge technology in its product offerings 
8throughout the last 100 years and has helped to transform the 
9electric power industry; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The City of Chicago has served as the S & C 
11Electric Company's corporate headquarters since its founding 
12in 1911; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The S & C Electric Company employs an expanding 
14workforce of more than 1,800 people at its Chicago campus and 
15more than 200 employees at its other U.S. locations; the 
16company also employs over 400 employees at the company's 
17international locations in Canada, Brazil, China, Mexico, and 
18Europe; and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, The S & C Electric Company recently opened the 
20Advanced Technology Center on its Chicago campus; this unique, 
21state-of-the-art testing laboratory has enabled S & C to

1accelerate the delivery of these innovative solutions to its 
2customers worldwide; and
 
3    WHEREAS, The S & C Electric Company and its employees serve 
4as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the 
5people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate the owners and employees of the S & C Electric 
9Company on the occasion of the organization's 100th anniversary 
10and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; 
11and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the S & C Electric Company as a symbol of our 
14esteem and respect.
