HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joseph John Fijak 
4on his 50th birthday; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mr. Fijak was born on June 22, 1961; he was a 
6lettered athlete in football, baseball, and basketball in high 
7school; he married his wife, Jane, in 1984; they have been 
8married for 27 years and are the parents of Joseph John and 
9Jessy; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Mr. Fijak is a devoted father and coached youth 
11baseball and hockey; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, He is a 30-year veteran of the high technology 
13industry with humble beginnings as a customer service 
14representative to his accession as the current Vice President 
15of Avnet, a Fortune 150 company; he worked in Silicon Valley 
16and traveled extensively in Asia as part of his career path; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Mr. Fijak is truly an entrepreneur to his core and 
19developed and opened his own Manufacturer's Representative 
20Firm and assisted a high tech IPO launch on NASDAQ; he has a 
21diverse career portfolio and is an avid real estate investor

1and radio talk show host; he is a philanthropist and believes 
2it is important to give
back to entrepreneurs across the world 
3including kiva.org; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, His most important role in his life is that of 
5devoted husband, father, and friend; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate Joseph John Fijak on his 50th birthday and wish 
9him the best for years to come; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Joseph Fijak as a symbol of our respect and 
12esteem.
