2 | | WHEREAS, Autism Spectrum Disorder is a complex |
3 | | neurobiological disorder that affects the social, learning, |
4 | | and behavioral skills of those affected by it; and

5 | | WHEREAS, Autism impacts one out of every 110 children in |
6 | | the United States and is the fastest growing developmental |
7 | | disability; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Autism can affect anyone, regardless of race, |
9 | | ethnicity, or other factors; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Because a cure for autism has not been found, |
11 | | individuals with autism can be assisted in reaching their |
12 | | greatest potential through accurate early diagnosis, |
13 | | appropriate education, and intervention; and

14 | | WHEREAS, Families of children with autism bear an enormous |
15 | | financial burden of providing needing services and healthcare; |
16 | | and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Public information and awareness efforts are |
18 | | important in accelerating early identification efforts and the |
19 | | expansion of early intervention programs; and
