HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Schurder on the occasion of her retirement as Executive Director of The Center of Concern after many years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Mary Schurder was a 10-year board member of The Center of Concern; and

WHEREAS, Mary Schurder has served the community as Executive Director of The Center of Concern for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Mary Schurder was named a Park Ridge Chamber Community Star; and

WHEREAS, Under Mary Schurder's leadership, The Center of Concern has been honored with a Hometown Agency of the Year award; and

WHEREAS, The Center of Concern's homesharing program was recognized under Mary Schurder's leadership with a Best Practices award by the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and

WHEREAS, Mary Schurder has employed her energy, vision, and skill to lead her staff in tireless service to the northwest suburban Chicago area; and

WHEREAS, The Center of Concern has greatly expanded the scope and reach of its services under Mary Schurder's leadership; and

WHEREAS, Countless elderly clients and persons of all ages have been helped by The Center of Concern under Mary Schurder's leadership to sustain and maintain their homes and their emotional stability; and

WHEREAS, Mary Schurder announced her intention to retire as Executive Director of The Center of Concern, effective January 31, 2011; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mary Schurder on her successful career as a true friend to the residents of the northwest Chicago suburban area upon the occasion of her retirement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mary Schurder as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
