| 1 | | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Section 3 of Article VIII of the Constitution of |
| 3 | | the State of
Illinois provides that the General Assembly, by a |
| 4 | | vote of three-fifths of
the members elected to each house, |
| 5 | | shall appoint an Auditor General; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The General Assembly has, by Section 2-3 of the |
| 7 | | Illinois State
Auditing Act, charged the Legislative Audit |
| 8 | | Commission with the
responsibility of diligently searching out |
| 9 | | qualified candidates for the
office and making recommendations |
| 10 | | to the General Assembly, and, pursuant to
this statutory |
| 11 | | mandate, the Legislative Audit Commission has conducted a
|
| 12 | | diligent search and has recommended to the General Assembly the |
| 13 | | appointment
of William G. Holland of Springfield, Illinois, as |
| 14 | | Auditor General; therefore,

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 16 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 17 | | SENATE CONCURRING
HEREIN, that
pursuant to Section 3 of Article |
| 18 | | VIII of the Constitution and upon the
recommendation of the |
| 19 | | Legislative Audit Commission,
William G. Holland of |
| 20 | | Springfield, Illinois, is appointed Auditor General
for the |
| 21 | | State of Illinois for a term commencing on August 1, 2012.
