Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that a post-secondary student who is not a United States citizen and who is enrolled in a public university, college, or community college in this State is ineligible for any public aid benefits provided under the Code. Prohibits a public university, college, or community college in this State from counseling or providing information to such a student on how or where to apply for any public aid benefits provided under the Code.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 1-8.6 as follows:

| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/1-8.6 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1-8.6. Post-secondary student; non-citizen; |
| 8 | | ineligible. A post-secondary student who is not a United States |
| 9 | | citizen and who is enrolled in a public university, college, or |
| 10 | | community college in this State is ineligible for any benefits |
| 11 | | provided under this Code. No public university, college, or |
| 12 | | community college in this State shall counsel or provide |
| 13 | | information to such a student on how or where to apply for any |
| 14 | | benefits provided under this Code.
