12 | | applying for a waiver under this Section, or (iii) whose annual |
13 | | household income is $50,000 or less at the time a waiver under |
14 | | this Section is granted. |
15 | | "Illinois college or university" means any

campus under its governance or supervision to |
13 | | the children of employees of
an Illinois college or university |
14 | | who have been employed
by any one or by more than one Illinois |
15 | | college or university for an aggregate
period of at least 7
|
16 | | years. To be eligible to receive a partial tuition waiver, the |
17 | | child of an
employee of an Illinois college or university (i) |
18 | | must
be under the age of 25 at the
commencement of the academic |
19 | | year during which the partial tuition waiver
is to be |
20 | | effective, and (ii) must qualify for admission to the |
21 | | University of
Illinois
under the same admissions requirements, |
22 | | standards and policies which the
University of Illinois applies |
23 | | to applicants for admission generally to its
respective
|
24 | | undergraduate colleges and programs.
|
25 | | (c) Subject to the provisions and limitations of subsection
|
26 | | (b), an
eligible applicant who has continued to maintain |

applicant in accordance with the provisions of this |

9 | | (e) The Board of Trustees shall prescribe rules and |

are necessary to implement and administer the |

23 | | Sec. 35-90. Partial tuition waivers.

24 | | (a) As used in this Section : , |
|

1 | | "Employee" means an employee of an Illinois college or |
2 | | university (i) who is a veteran at the time a waiver under this |
3 | | Section is granted, (ii) who is the parent of a veteran who is |
4 | | applying for a waiver under this Section, or (iii) whose annual |
5 | | household income is $50,000 or less at the time a waiver under |
6 | | this Section is granted. |
7 | | "Illinois college or university" means any
of the |
8 | | following: the University of Illinois, Southern Illinois |
9 | | University,
Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois |
10 | | University, Governors State
University, Illinois State |
11 | | University, Northeastern Illinois University,
Northern |
12 | | Illinois University, and Western Illinois University.
|
13 | | "Veteran" means an Illinois resident who has served as a |
14 | | member of the United States Armed Forces on active duty or |
15 | | State active duty, a member of the Illinois National Guard, or |
16 | | a member of the United States Reserve Forces and who has |
17 | | received an honorable discharge. |
18 | | (b) Each year the Board of Western Illinois
University |
19 | | shall offer 50% tuition waivers for undergraduate education at |
20 | | any
campus under its governance to the children of employees of
|
21 | | an Illinois college or university who have been employed
by any |
22 | | one or by more than one Illinois college or university for an |
23 | | aggregate period of at least 7
years. To be eligible to receive |
24 | | a partial tuition waiver, the child of an
employee of an |
25 | | Illinois college or university (i) must
be under the age of 25 |
26 | | at the
commencement of the academic year during which the |

1 | | partial tuition waiver
is to be effective, and (ii) must |
2 | | qualify for admission to Western Illinois University
under the |
3 | | same admissions requirements, standards and policies which |
4 | | Western
Illinois University applies to applicants for |
5 | | admission generally to
its respective
undergraduate colleges |
6 | | and programs.
|
7 | | (c) Subject to the provisions and limitations of subsection
|
8 | | (b), an
eligible applicant who has continued to maintain |
9 | | satisfactory academic
progress toward graduation may have his |
10 | | or her partial tuition waiver
renewed until the time as he or |
11 | | she has expended 4 years of undergraduate
partial tuition |
12 | | waiver benefits under this Section.
|
13 | | (d) No partial tuition waiver offered or allocated to any
|
14 | | eligible
applicant in accordance with the provisions of this |
15 | | Section shall be
charged against any tuition waiver limitation |
16 | | established by the Illinois
Board of Higher Education.
|
17 | | (e) The Board shall prescribe rules and regulations as
are |
18 | | necessary to implement and administer the provisions of this |
19 | | Section.

21 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect September |
22 | | 1, 2012.".
