2 | | Act of 1987 or a license for a dentist under the Illinois |
3 | | Dental Practice Act, to a service member. The temporary |
4 | | occupational or professional license shall be valid for 6 |
5 | | months after the date of issuance. The service member shall |
6 | | apply to the department in the format prescribed by the |
7 | | department. An application must include proof that: |
8 | | (1) the applicant is a service member; |
9 | | (2) the applicant holds a valid license for the |
10 | | occupation or profession issued by another state, |
11 | | commonwealth, possession, or territory of the United |
12 | | States, the District of Columbia, or any foreign |
13 | | jurisdiction; |
14 | | (3) the applicant is assigned to a duty station in this |
15 | | State or has established legal residence in this State; and |
16 | | (4) a complete set of the applicant's fingerprints has |
17 | | been submitted to the Department of State Police for |
18 | | statewide and national criminal history checks. |
19 | | (c) Each director of a department that issues an |
20 | | occupational or professional license is authorized to issue an |
21 | | expedited temporary occupational or professional license, |
22 | | other than a license for a physician under the Medical Practice |
23 | | Act of 1987 or a license for a dentist under the Illinois |
24 | | Dental Practice Act, to the spouse of an active duty member of |
25 | | the Armed Forces of the United States. The temporary |
26 | | occupational or professional license shall be valid for 6 |

1 | | months after the date of issuance. The active duty member |
2 | | spouse shall apply to the department in the format prescribed |
3 | | by the department. An application must include proof that: |

5 | | (2) the applicant holds a valid license for the |
6 | | occupation or profession issued by another state, |
7 | | commonwealth, possession, or territory of the United |
8 | | States, the District of Columbia, or any foreign |
9 | | jurisdiction; |
10 | | (3) the applicant's spouse is assigned to a duty |
11 | | station in this State or has established legal residence in |
12 | | this State; and |
13 | | (4) a complete set of the applicant's fingerprints has |
14 | | been submitted to the Department of State Police for |
15 | | statewide and national criminal history checks. |
16 | | (d) A department may adopt any rules necessary for the |
17 | | implementation and administration of this Section. |
18 | | Section 10. The State Fire Marshal Act is amended by adding |
19 | | Section 5 as follows: |
20 | | (20 ILCS 2905/5 new) |
21 | | Sec. 5. Expedited temporary licensure for service members |
22 | | and spouses. |
23 | | (a) In this Section, "service member" means any person who |
24 | | serves or has served in the United States Armed Forces or any |

1 | | reserve component of the United States Armed Forces or the |
2 | | National Guard of any state, commonwealth, or territory of the |
3 | | United States or the District of Columbia. |
4 | | (b) The State Fire Marshal is authorized to issue an |
5 | | expedited temporary occupational or professional license to a |
6 | | service member. The temporary occupational or professional |
7 | | license shall be valid for 6 months after the date of issuance. |
8 | | The service member shall apply to the Office in the format |
9 | | prescribed by the Office. An application must include proof |
10 | | that: |
11 | | (1) the applicant is a service member; |
12 | | (2) the applicant holds a valid license for the |
13 | | occupation or profession issued by another state, |
14 | | commonwealth, possession, or territory of the United |
15 | | States, the District of Columbia, or any foreign |
16 | | jurisdiction; |
17 | | (3) the applicant is assigned to a duty station in this |
18 | | State or has established legal residence in this State; and |
19 | | (4) a complete set of the applicant's fingerprints has |
20 | | been submitted to the Department of State Police for |
21 | | statewide and national criminal history checks. |
22 | | (c) The State Fire Marshal is authorized to issue an |

24 | | the spouse of an active duty member of the Armed Forces of the |
25 | | United States. The temporary occupational or professional |

1 | | The active duty member spouse shall apply to the Office in the |
