Amends the Secretary of State Merit Employment Code. Grants veteran employees 4 (rather than 2) days per year to visit a veterans hospital for
examination of a military service connected disability. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Secretary of State Merit Employment Code is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 10b.18 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (15 ILCS 310/10b.18) (from Ch. 124, par. 110b.18)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 10b.18. Veterans hospital visits. An employee who is |
| 8 | | also a
veteran shall be permitted 4 2 days per year to visit a |
| 9 | | veterans hospital for
examination of a military service |
| 10 | | connected disability. The 4 2 days shall
not be charged against |
| 11 | | any sick leave currently available to the employee.
