Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person in a wheelchair who is secured by a restraining device for passengers with disabilities shall also wear a properly adjusted and fastened seat safety belt.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 12-810 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 12-810.
Restraining devices for passengers who are |
| 8 | | persons with
disabilities. Each school bus which is operated |
| 9 | | for transporting
passengers who are persons with disabilities |
| 10 | | shall be equipped with an
appropriate restraining or safety |
| 11 | | device for each such passenger. A person in a wheelchair who is |
| 12 | | secured by a restraining device for passengers with |
| 13 | | disabilities as required by this Section shall also wear a |
| 14 | | properly adjusted and fastened seat safety belt as required by |
| 15 | | Section 12-603.1 of this Code.
