Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that the Department of Corrections shall develop and establish a foreign language program with courses in the Spanish language, which may be taken by committed persons enrolled in programs for the high school level Test of General Educational Development (GED) and pursuing GED certificates.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 3-6-9 as follows: |

7 | | Sec. 3-6-9. Foreign language program. The Department of |
