Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Removes a provision that requires, within one month of its passage, notice to the public of any ordinance that makes an appropriation. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 7 as follows:
|
6 | | (70 ILCS 705/7) (from Ch. 127 1/2, par. 27)
|
7 | | Sec. 7.
All ordinances imposing any penalty or making any |
8 | | appropriations
shall, within one month after they are passed, |
9 | | be published at least once
in a newspaper published in said |
10 | | district, or if no such newspaper of
general circulation is |
11 | | published therein, then either by one publication in
any |
12 | | newspaper of general circulation within said territory or by |
13 | | posting
copies of the same in ten public places in the |
14 | | district; and no such
ordinance shall take effect until ten |
15 | | days after it is so published or
posted, and all other |
16 | | ordinances and resolutions shall take effect from and
after |
17 | | their passage unless otherwise provided therein.
