Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that "federally qualified health center" also means a health care practitioner in an individual or group practice as set forth under the federal Social Security Act. Effective July 1, 2012.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 5-5.20 as follows:
|
6 | | (305 ILCS 5/5-5.20)
|
7 | | Sec. 5-5.20. Clinic payments. For services provided by |
8 | | federally
qualified health centers as defined in Section 1905 |
9 | | (l)(2)(B) of the federal
Social Security Act, on or after April |
10 | | 1, 1989, and as long as required by
federal law, the Illinois |
11 | | Department shall
reimburse those health centers for those |
12 | | services according to a prospective
cost-reimbursement |
13 | | methodology. For purposes of this Section, "federally |
14 | | qualified health center" also means a health care practitioner |
15 | | in an individual or group practice as set forth in Section |
16 | | 1902(a)(37) of the federal Social Security Act.
