1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 4-8 as follows:
|
6 | | (70 ILCS 1205/4-8) (from Ch. 105, par. 4-8)
|
7 | | Sec. 4-8.
Except where the president of the district is |
8 | | elected by direct
vote of the electors, the board of each park |
9 | | district shall elect from
their number a president and all |
10 | | districts shall elect a vice-president,
who shall hold their |
11 | | respective offices for one year, or until their
successors |
12 | | shall be elected. The Board shall prescribe their powers and
|
13 | | duties not inconsistent with the provisions of this code.
|
14 | | The Board shall also appoint a secretary and a treasurer, |
15 | | prescribe
their duties, and term of office and require such |
16 | | bonds as the board deems
necessary. The secretary and treasurer |
17 | | need not be members of the board, in
which case the Board may |
18 | | fix their compensation; and both offices may be
held by the |
19 | | same person. The secretary shall have power to administer oaths
|
20 | | and affirmations.

21 | | The Board may appoint an assistant secretary and an |
22 | | assistant treasurer. If the secretary or treasurer are unable |
23 | | to perform the duties of their respective offices, then the |
