AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4334




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4334 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 
5Housing Development Access to Residents Act.
 
6    Section 5. Housing developments; access to residents. Any 
7owner of a housing development that receives funds from the 
8Illinois Housing Development Authority or from any State 
9housing program must permit State and local officials to visit 
10with the residents of the housing development when the visit is 
11in furtherance of a public duty.
 
12    Section 10. The Illinois Housing Development Act is amended 
13by adding Section 13.1 as follows:

1    Sec. 13.1. Housing mediator. There shall be created within 
2the Authority a Housing Mediator to mediate disputes between 
3residents and housing developments that receive funds from the 
4Authority or from any State housing program. The Authority must 
5establish and operate a hotline for the purpose of receiving 
6phone calls from residents with housing complaints.
 

7    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
8becoming law.".
