Amends the Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Act. Provides that notwithstanding any other statute, rule, or regulation to the contrary, beginning on January 1, 2015, an ambulatory surgical treatment center where abortions are performed, and any other facility where 50 or more abortions are performed in any calendar year, must comply with all of the statutes, rules, and regulations applicable to ambulatory surgical treatment centers generally. Provides that if any such ambulatory surgical treatment center commences any construction or major alteration on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act but before January 1, 2015, then the requirements prescribed by the amendatory Act shall apply.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 6.2 as follows: |
6 | | (210 ILCS 5/6.2 new) |
7 | | Sec. 6.2. Abortions; other statutes and rules. |
8 | | Notwithstanding any other statute, rule, or regulation to the |
9 | | contrary, beginning on January 1, 2015, an ambulatory surgical |
10 | | treatment center where abortions are performed, and any other |
11 | | facility where 50 or more abortions are performed in any |
12 | | calendar year, must comply with all of the statutes, rules, and |
13 | | regulations applicable to ambulatory surgical treatment |
14 | | centers generally. If any such ambulatory surgical treatment |
15 | | center commences any construction or major alteration on or |
16 | | after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th |
17 | | General Assembly but before January 1, 2015, then the |
18 | | requirements prescribed by this Section shall apply.
