Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that a written notice to terminate a year-to-year lease of farm land, unless there is a written agreement to the contrary, shall be given by August 1 of the then current year (instead of in writing by not less than 4 months prior to the end of the year of letting).

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 9-206 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 9-206. Notice to terminate tenancy of farm land. |
| 8 | | Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, in In order to terminate

rental basis, the |
| 11 | | notice to quit shall be given in writing no later than August 1 |

| 14 | | waived in a verbal lease. The notice to quit may be |
| 15 | | substantially in the
following form:

your lease of the farm premises now occupied by you, |
| 18 | | being (here
describe the premises) and you are hereby further |
| 19 | | notified to quit and
deliver up possession of the same to me at |
| 20 | | the end of the lease year,
the last day of such year being |
| 21 | | (here insert the last day of the lease
year).
