Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that the Cook County Board of Review and the Cook County Assessor must each post on their websites certain information concerning assessment appeals and law firms representing property owners. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning revenue.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Sections 3-70 and 6-65 as follows: |
6 | | (35 ILCS 200/3-70 new) |
7 | | Sec. 3-70. Cook County Assessor's website; appeals. The |
8 | | Cook County Assessor shall post the following information on |
9 | | its Internet website: |
10 | | (1) the total number of appeals filed with the Cook |
11 | | County Assessor; |
12 | | (2) the number of appeals filed with the Cook County |
13 | | Assessor that received an assessment reduction, including |
14 | | the complaint number for each of those appeals; |
15 | | (3) the total number of pro se appeals filed with the |
16 | | Cook County Assessor; |
17 | | (4) the number of pro se appeals filed with the Cook |
18 | | County Assessor that received an assessment reduction, |
19 | | including the complaint number for each of those appeals; |
20 | | (5) the average property tax savings for individual, |
21 | | pro se property owners who were successful in their |
22 | | assessment appeals; and |
23 | | (6) a list of attorneys, individuals, and law firms |
