Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Removes residential driveways from the exception to the prohibition against depositing removed ice or snow upon a public highway or along the shoulder or edge of a public highway. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 9-130 as follows:
|
6 | | (605 ILCS 5/9-130) (from Ch. 121, par. 9-130)
|
7 | | Sec. 9-130.
No person, firm, corporation or institution,
|
8 | | public or private,
shall plow or remove or cause to be plowed |
9 | | or removed ice or snow from any
shopping center, parking lot, |
10 | | commercial or institutional service area or
driveway or any |
11 | | other public or private service area or driveway and deposit
|
12 | | such ice or snow upon a public highway or along the shoulder or |
13 | | edge of
a public highway. Such prohibition shall not pertain to |
14 | | a residential driveway
or sidewalk.
|
15 | | Any person, firm, corporation or institution, public or |
16 | | private, who violates
this Section is guilty of a petty |
17 | | offense.
