Amends the Recreational Trails of Illinois Act. Provides that the Department of Natural Resources may allow the operation of all-terrain vehicles, as defined in the Illinois Vehicle Code, on designated trails on property owned or managed by the Department if the temperature is below 28 degrees Fahrenheit and there is less than 4 inches of snow on the ground. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Recreational Trails of Illinois Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 47 as follows: |
6 | | (20 ILCS 862/47 new) |
7 | | Sec. 47. Operation of all-terrain vehicles on trails. The |
8 | | Department of Natural Resources may allow the operation of |
9 | | all-terrain vehicles, as defined in the Illinois Vehicle Code, |
10 | | on designated trails on property owned or managed by the |
11 | | Department if the temperature is below 28 degrees Fahrenheit |
12 | | and there is less than 4 inches of snow on the ground.

13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
14 | | becoming law.
