| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Fire Protection Training Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (50 ILCS 740/1) (from Ch. 85, par. 531)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 1. Legislative Declaration. It is declared as a a |
| 8 | | matter
of legislative determination that in order
to promote |
| 9 | | and protect the health, safety and welfare of the public, it
is |
| 10 | | necessary and in the public interest to provide for the
|
| 11 | | encouraging and aiding of municipalities,
counties and other |
| 12 | | local governmental agencies of this State in their
efforts to |
| 13 | | raise the level of local fire protection by upgrading and
|
| 14 | | maintaining a high level of training for fire protection |
| 15 | | personnel. It
is declared to be the responsibility of the |
| 16 | | Office of the State
Fire Marshal to encourage the
participation |
| 17 | | of local governmental units in the programs established by
the |
| 18 | | Office and to aid in the establishment of adequate training
|
| 19 | | facilities.
|
