2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 50-10 as follows:
|
6 | | (30 ILCS 500/50-10)
|
7 | | Sec. 50-10. Felons. |
8 | | (a) Unless otherwise provided, no person
or business |
9 | | convicted of
a felony shall do business with the
the State of |
10 | | Illinois or any State
agency, or enter into a subcontract, from |
11 | | the date of
conviction until 5 years after the date of |
12 | | completion of the
sentence for that felony, unless no
person |
13 | | held responsible by a prosecutorial office for the facts
upon |
14 | | which the conviction was
based continues to have any |
15 | | involvement with the business. |
16 | | (b) Every bid submitted to and contract executed by the |
17 | | State and every subcontract subject to Section 20-120 of this |
18 | | Code shall contain a certification by the bidder or contractor |
19 | | or subcontractor, respectively, that the bidder, contractor, |
20 | | or subcontractor is not barred from being awarded a contract or |
21 | | subcontract under this Section and acknowledges that the chief |
22 | | procurement officer may declare the related contract void if |
23 | | any of the certifications required by this Section are false. |
