AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1577




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1577, AS AMENDED, by 
3replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 
4following:


 
5    "Section 5. "An Act concerning insurance", approved 
6February 14, 2011, Public Act 96-1523, is amended  by adding 
7Section 99 as follows:
 
8    (P.A. 96-1523, Sec. 99 new)
9    Sec. 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 1, 
102012.
 
11    Section 10. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by 
12adding Section 356z.3b as follows:
 
13    (215 ILCS 5/356z.3b new)
14    Sec. 356z.3b. Reimbursement rate for out-of-network

1facility-based providers. From June 1, 2011 to December 31, 
22011, the out-of-network physician reimbursement rate for 
3out-of-network facility-based providers for the same services 
4in the same geographical area at an in-network facility for 
5claims for medical services submitted for the services 
6addressed in Section 356z.3a of the Illinois Insurance Code as 
7added by Public Act 96-1523 shall be the in-network physician 
8reimbursement rate of that insurer or health plan.
 
 
9    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
10becoming law.".
