Amends the Illinois Solid Waste Management Act. Provides that any person who sells or commercially distributes any styrofoam-containing food or beverage container at the State fairgrounds or the Capitol complex commits a business offense punishable by a fine of $100. Defines "State fairgrounds" and "Capitol complex". Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning safety.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Solid Waste Management Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 7.4 as follows: |
6 | | (415 ILCS 20/7.4 new) |
7 | | Sec. 7.4. Styrofoam-containing containers. |
8 | | (a) Any person who sells or commercially distributes any |
9 | | styrofoam-containing food or beverage container at the State |
10 | | fairgrounds or the Capitol complex commits a business offense |
11 | | punishable by a fine of $100. |
12 | | (b) For the purposes of this Section: |
13 | | "Capitol complex" has the same meaning as "legislative |
14 | | complex" in subsection (a) of Section 8A-15 of the |
15 | | Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984. |
16 | | "State fairgrounds" has the same meaning as in Section |
17 | | 2 of the State Fair Act.

18 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
19 | | becoming law.
