| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 3. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 165 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/165 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 165. Purple Heart Day. The 7th day of August of each |
| 8 | | year is designated Purple Heart Day to be observed as a day to |
| 9 | | honor and remember those who have been wounded or killed in |
| 10 | | battle.

| 12 | | Section 5. The National Guard Veterans Exposure to |
| 13 | | Hazardous Materials Act is amended by repealing Section 20.
