     Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the corporate authorities of each municipality may license, tax, and regulate all businesses within their corporate limits. Repeals provisions concerning the licensing, taxing, and regulating of specific types of businesses.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  
 
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended  by 
5changing Section 11-42-1 as follows:
 



6    (65 ILCS 5/11-42-1)  (from Ch. 24, par. 11-42-1)



7    Sec. 11-42-1. 
The corporate authorities of each 
8municipality may license,
tax, and regulate all businesses 
9located within their corporate limits auctioneers, private 
10detectives, demolition contractors,
money changers, bankers, 
11brokers other than insurance brokers, barbers, and the
keepers 
12or owners of lumber yards, lumber storehouses, livery stables, 
13public
scales, ice cream parlors, coffee houses, florists, 
14detective agencies, barber
shops and sellers of tickets for 
15theatricals, shows, amusements, athletic
events and other 
16exhibitions at a place other than the theatre or location
where 
17the theatricals, shows, amusements, athletic events and other 
18exhibitions
are given or exhibited.
