| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 11-1408 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/11-1408) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-1408)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 11-1408. Riding in towed vehicles house trailers. No |
| 8 | | person or persons shall occupy
a house trailer, semitrailer, |
| 9 | | farm wagon, or any other vehicle travel trailer while it is |
| 10 | | being towed upon a public highway, unless: |
| 11 | | (1) the occupancy of the towed vehicle is necessary to |
| 12 | | avoid an imminent threat to a person's safety due to |
| 13 | | extreme weather conditions or another emergency situation; |
| 14 | | (2) the speed of the vehicle does not exceed 15 miles |
| 15 | | per hour and the vehicle is used in connection with a |
| 16 | | parade, farming-related activity, or similar activity; or |
| 17 | | (3) the speed of the vehicle does not exceed 15 miles |
| 18 | | per hour and the passenger is over the age of 18.
