4 | | 3, on page 1, line 9, after " schools ", by inserting " without |
5 | | the required 30-day notification "; and

6 | | on page 1, line 12, after " limit. ", by inserting " For purposes |
7 | | of this Section, "emergency situation" means construction or |
8 | | maintenance activity which either requires a significant |
9 | | increase in the amount of traffic passing by a school or |
10 | | requires the re-routing of school children to another roadway. |
11 | | The temporary speed limit shall revert back to the original |
12 | | speed limit at the termination of the emergency situation, |
13 | | unless required engineering or traffic investigations justify |
14 | | permanent adoption of the temporary speed limit. ".
