| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1089 on page 2, |
| 3 | | immediately below line 20, by inserting the following:

| 4 | | "(E) A qualified plug-in electric drive vehicle that |
| 5 | | (i) is a 4-wheeled motor vehicle, (ii) is made by a |
| 6 | | manufacturer primarily for use on public streets, roads, |
| 7 | | and highways, (iii) has not been modified from the original |
| 8 | | manufacturer specifications, (iv) is acquired for use or |
| 9 | | lease by the purchaser or lessor and not for resale, (v) is |
| 10 | | rated at not more than 8,500 pounds unloaded gross vehicle |
| 11 | | weight, (vi) has a maximum speed capability of at least 65 |
| 12 | | miles per hour, and (vii) is propelled to a significant |
| 13 | | extent by an electric motor that draws electricity from a |
| 14 | | battery that has a capacity of not less than 4 kilowatt |
| 15 | | hours and is capable of being recharged from an external |
| 16 | | source of electricity.".
