Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Senate Rules. Authorizes the President of the Senate to promulgate forms for individuals whose nominations are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. Provides that Appointment Messages need not be re-referred to the Committee on Assignments on the 31st consecutive day that the Senate has not convened for session. Authorizes committees to make additional types of reports on legislative measures. Specifies that Appointment Messages reported "do recommend advice and consent", "do not recommend advice and consent", or "without recommendation" are deemed reported to the Senate. Requires all Appointment Messages reported to the Senate from a committee, or with respect to which a committee has been discharged, to stand on the order of Executive Appointments. Authorizes aides (rather than an aide) of the Governor to be admitted to the Senate when it is in session. Specifies that a perfunctory session day shall not be deemed a session day for the purpose of calculating the period of time during which the Senate must act upon certain nominations made by the Governor.
