Synopsis As Introduced
Recognizes Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the community residents and organizations of Pilsen and Little Village in Chicago, the Chicago Clean Power Coalition, and Midwest Generation for their work and leadership in reaching the agreed resolution to retire coal-fired power plants at the Fisk and Crawford stations in accordance with the goals and objectives of the proposed Chicago Clean Power Ordinance.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 2
Deletes everything but the title in the introduced resolution. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced resolution with the following changes. Requires a suitable copy of the resolution to be presented to Midwest Generation. Acknowledges the men and women who worked at the facilities that are closing. Removes a provision urging support for efforts to clean up the facilities once closed. Recognizes that the closure of the facilities will help the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois achieve their clean air goals. Removes a provision which suggested that residents in the communities neighboring the facilities have long been concerned with the health impacts of emissions from the facilities.
