Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Provides that older direct care workers who receive awards from the Department on Aging shall be honored in conjunction with the Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame awards (rather than before their peers at the Governor's Conference on Aging or at a similar venue). Requires the Department to request nominations no later than July 1, 2011, and every May 1 thereafter. Effective immediately.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the engrossed bill with the following changes. Further amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Provides that under the Comprehensive Care in Residential Settings Demonstration Project provision, designated projects must hold a valid certificate (rather than a license) under the provisions of the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. Changes certain references from "license" to "certificate" and makes corresponding changes throughout the Act. Provides that a valid license issued pursuant to the Act prior to the effective date of the amendatory Act shall be deemed a valid certificate subject to all renewal, suspension, revocation, and disciplinary provisions of the Act until such time as the Department of Public Health shall establish means for certification under the Act. Effective immediately.
