Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Deferred Compensation Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that to the extent that federal law or regulations have been changed to allow plans established under Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code to be amended to allow designated Roth contributions and in-plan rollovers to designated Roth accounts, the Department of Central Management Services and units of local government with such plans shall within a reasonable time amend their plans accordingly.

Adds reference to:
40 ILCS 5/3-103from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 3-103

Amends the Downstate Police Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Excludes from participation under that Article any municipality: (i) that reached a population of 5,000 inhabitants as a result of the 2010 decennial census; (ii) that has not established a fund under this Article prior to the effective date of the amendatory Act; (iii) whose police officers, on that effective date, were participating in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund and were not members of a collective bargaining unit, and (iv) that had a population of 4,800 inhabitants prior to the publication of the 2010 decennial census and a population of less than 5,300 inhabitants after the publication of the 2010 decennial census.
