Synopsis As Introduced
Amends various Acts relating to the governance of State universities. Repeals provisions that permit the children of employees of a State university who have been employed by any one or by more than one State university for an aggregate period of at least 7 years to receive a 50% tuition waiver. Effective immediately.

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends various Acts relating to the governance of State universities. In provisions that permit the children of employees of a State university who have been employed by any one or by more than one State university for an aggregate period of at least 7 years to receive a 50% tuition waiver, defines "employee" as an employee of an Illinois college or university (i) who is a veteran at the time a waiver is granted, (ii) who is the parent of a veteran who is applying for a waiver, or (iii) whose annual household income is $50,000 or less at the time a waiver is granted. Defines "veteran" as an Illinois resident who has served as a member of the United States Armed Forces on active duty or State active duty, a member of the Illinois National Guard, or a member of the United States Reserve Forces and who has received an honorable discharge. Effective September 1, 2012.
