Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Election Code. Authorizes the board of education of a school district, by resolution, to initiate an advisory question under the Code to be placed on the ballot both in the territory of the school district and in the precincts adjacent to the boundaries of the school district.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
10 ILCS 5/28-14
Adds reference to:
105 ILCS 5/9-1.5 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with changes. Removes language allowing a school district to place an advisory question on the ballot in an adjacent precinct. Amends the School Code (instead of the Election Code).

House Floor Amendment No. 3
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the School Code. Provides that the school board may authorize an advisory question of public policy to be placed on the ballot at the next regularly scheduled election in the school district. Provides that the question must be submitted at an election in accordance with the Election Code, but may not be submitted at a consolidated primary election.
