Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Makes a technical change in a Section creating the Department on Aging.

House Floor Amendment No. 2

	20 ILCS 840/11 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the State Parks Designation Act. Provides that property located within Pyramid State Park and described in the provision shall no longer be designated part of Pyramid State Park and the Department of Natural Resources is authorized to lease such property to a private entity having options to purchase property adjacent thereto on which mining operations are planned. Provides that the private entity shall demonstrate to the Department that the (i) property described does not include specified protected areas, (ii) mining operations are feasible on the adjacent property, (iii) operations shall consist of overburden removal, (iv) operations shall have a significant impact on the local economy, (v) operations shall not conduct surface mining for the extraction of coal, (vi) property shall be reclaimed by the State on expiration of the lease, and (vii) adjacent property to the State property shall ultimately be conveyed to the State. Provides details concerning the lease including leasing the property at fair market value, plans for reclamation of the property, existing leases for the property, and pertains only to the designated property described in the provision. Effective immediately.
