SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy A. Clementz of Montgomery,
4formerly of Aurora, who passed away on July 21, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born October 15, 1917 in Aurora; she was a
6lifelong member of St. Nicholas Church in Aurora; she graduated
7from Madonna High School in 1936, and received the Madonna
8Alumna of the Year Award in 1960; for over 50 years she sang in
9the church choir, the Aurora Chorale, and throughout the Aurora
10Deanery; Dorothy and her sister Dolores sang many area weddings
11for 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, She was president of the St. Ann Sodality of St.
13Nicholas Church; the president of the Marmion Mothers Club; the
14secretary of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women; a founding
15member of the Rockford Diocesan Chapter of the National
16Catholic Music Educators Association; a member of the Mercy
17Center Auxiliary; and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
18Knights of Columbus #736; and
 
19    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, George
20W. Clementz; her son, Mark W. Clementz; 3 of her sisters, Anna
21Mae Weiland, Dolores Kramer, and Collette Kranik; 2 of her
22brothers, Wilfred Kramer and Walter Kramer; and her

1daughter-in-law, Susan Clementz; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dorothy Clementz is survived by her daughters,
3Laura (Gerry) Knuth, Mary (Dick) Gardner, Sarah (Norb) Weber,
4and Martha (Greg) Lage; her sons, Douglas (Joy) Clementz, Peter
5(Toni) Clementz, Gregory (Denise) Clementz, Patrick (Diane)
6Clementz, Samuel (Barb) Clementz, Michael (Lynda) Clementz,
7and Christopher (Jean) Clementz; her 33 grandchildren; her 16
8great-grandchildren; her 2 great-great-grandchildren; her
9sister, Audrey Schmitt; her brothers, Robert (Ginni) Kramer and
10Jerome (Camille) Kramer; her dear sister-in-law, Helen Kramer;
11and many loving nieces and nephews; and her dear friends of the
12Tuesday Morning Bridge Club; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Clementz; and be
16it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Dorothy Clementz as a symbol of our
19sincere sympathy.
